The silver hair market is driving rapid growth in age-friendly products
Reporters learned from the State Administration for Market Regulation on May 27 that with the continuous upgrading of China's silver hair economy industry, age-friendly products are constantly emerging. From January to April this year, 28,700 new age-friendly products were added, a year-on-year increase of 255.2%.
Statistics from the State Administration for Market Regulation show that from January to April this year, 6,000 new mobility assistance products were added, a year-on-year increase of 1032.1%; 18,000 new daily living aids were added, a year-on-year increase of 260%; 2,000 new home safety products were added, a year-on-year increase of 220%; 1,000 new care products were added, a year-on-year increase of 166%; 700 new rehabilitation training equipment were added, a year-on-year increase of 12.2%; and 1,000 new health monitoring devices were added, a year-on-year increase of 8%.
From a geographical distribution perspective, age-friendly products show an uneven regional development. The number of age-friendly products in eastern regions accounts for 94.4% of the national total, mainly distributed in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Guangdong provinces. These regions have strong manufacturing bases and supply chain advantages and are production bases for age-friendly products such as medical devices and rehabilitation equipment in China. Overall, the growth rate of age-friendly products is significant, and the future market development space is considerable.
By the end of April, the total number of consumer product varieties nationwide was 218.604 million, of which the total number of age-friendly products was 2.16 million, involving nearly 10,000 enterprises. (Source: Xinhua News Agency, reporter Zhao Wenjun)
