Hello everyone! Time flies, and the new year is about to arrive. I extend my best wishes to everyone from Beijing!
In 2024, we walked through the four seasons together, experienced storms and rainbows, and each moment was captured in this extraordinary year, leaving us with deep emotions and unforgettable memories.
We actively responded to the impacts of changes in domestic and international environments, implementing a series of policy "combinations" to solidly promote high-quality development. Our economy is warming up, with GDP expected to exceed 130 trillion yuan. Grain production has surpassed 1.4 trillion jin, filling the Chinese bowl with more Chinese grain. Regional development is coordinated and synergistic, with new urbanization and rural revitalization mutually integrated and resonating together. Green and low-carbon development is advancing deeply, and the beautiful picture of China is gradually unfolding.
We cultivate new productive forces according to local conditions, with new industries, new business formats, and new models emerging one after another. The annual production of new energy vehicles has exceeded 10 million for the first time, and new achievements have been made in fields such as integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, and quantum communication. Chang'e 6 successfully collected samples from the far side of the moon, the Dream Chaser explored the ocean, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge crossed the waves, and the Antarctic Qinling Station rose on the ice field, showcasing the ambition and determination of the Chinese people to pursue their dreams of the stars and the sea.
This year, I visited local areas and saw the colorful lives of everyone. The Tianshui Huaniu apples are big and red, and the fishing harvest in Dongshan Ao Jiao Village is abundant. The Maijishan Grottoes' "Eastern Smile" has crossed a millennium, and the family traditions of courtesy in Liu Chi Lane are passed down through generations. The ancient culture street in Tianjin is bustling with crowds, and residents of the multi-ethnic community in Yinchuan are like one family. I have always been concerned about issues such as employment and income increase, "one old and one young," education, and healthcare. Over the past year, the basic pension has been increased, mortgage rates have been lowered, the scope of direct settlement has been expanded to facilitate medical treatment in different places, and the quality of life has improved through the exchange of old for new consumer goods... Everyone's sense of gain has been greatly enriched.
On the Paris Olympic stage, our athletes fought bravely and achieved the best results in overseas competitions, showcasing the youthful generation's vigor and confidence. The navy and air force celebrated their 75th birthday, and the people's soldiers displayed a new demeanor. In the face of natural disasters such as floods and typhoons, many party members and cadres rushed to the front lines, and everyone united to help each other. Countless workers, builders, and entrepreneurs are striving for their dreams. I awarded medals and national honorary titles to the recipients; the glory belongs to them and to every fighter who takes on responsibility.
In today's world, with chaos intertwined, China, as a responsible major country, actively promotes global governance reform and deepens solidarity and cooperation among the Global South. We are advancing high-quality co-construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative, successfully hosting the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and clearly presenting China's proposals in bilateral and multilateral occasions such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS, APEC, and the G20, injecting more positive energy into maintaining world peace and stability.
We celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the new China with great fanfare, looking back with deep affection at the tremendous changes of the Republic. Coming from the inheritance of over 5,000 years of Chinese civilization, the two characters "China" are engraved at the bottom of the "He Zun" and are even more deeply etched in the hearts of every child of the Huaxia. The 20th Central Committee's Third Plenary Session was successfully convened, sounding the clarion call for further comprehensive deepening of reform. We are marching forward boldly with the tide of the reform and opening up era, and Chinese-style modernization will surely open up a broader prospect in the process of reform and opening up.
In 2025, we will fully complete the "14th Five-Year Plan." We need to implement more proactive and effective policies, focus on high-quality development, promote high-level technological self-reliance, and maintain a good momentum in economic and social development. Currently, the economy is facing some new situations, with challenges from external environmental uncertainties and pressures from the transformation of old and new driving forces, but these can be overcome with effort. We must work together to continuously improve social construction and governance levels, create a harmonious and inclusive atmosphere, and solve the major and minor issues around the people, allowing everyone to smile more and feel warmer.
On the 25th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland, I visited the banks of the Pearl River again, and the new developments and changes are delightful. We will unswervingly implement the "one country, two systems" policy and maintain long-term prosperity and stability in Hong Kong and Macao. People on both sides of the strait are one family; no one can sever our blood ties, and no one can stop the historical trend of national reunification!
